Paula Faris
Paula Faris is an American journalist
who previously worked as the TV correspondent for ABC News. Her roles as
co-anchor for Good Morning America Weekend (2014-2018) and co-host of The View
(2015-2018) are very well-known. Prior to this, she was co-anchor of America
This Morning (World News Now) and America This Morning (America This Morning).
After graduating, she worked in several communications-related jobs including
an operations position at Mills/James Productions in Columbus, Ohio. Due to the
lack of TV opportunities she worked in radio sales. After one year working as a
production assistant with WKEF/WRGT. She was then capable of reporting and
anchoring on occasion. She was one of the weekend and weekday sports anchors at
WCPO TV, Cincinnati, from 2002 to 2005. She became a reporter for sports for
the NBC's Chicago affiliate WMAQ-TV between November 2005 and December 2011
after her contract ended. She was recruited by ABC News the news division in
the month of December. On January 2, 2012, she debuted on the network's World
News Now and America This Morning. She was a reporter and substitute for Good
Morning America during this time. Later she was promoted to New York-based
correspondent on all ABC News programs. She was the host of America This Morning
and World News Now's final episode on January 22 2013. On August 9, 2014, she
debuted as co-anchor for Good Morning America Weekend, after the departure of
Bianna Golodryga. Golodryga moved to Yahoo! News. ABC announced that she would
be joining The View as a cohost for season 19. The contract was renewed by ABC
to run its 20th season on August 3. Season 21 also saw her renewed as cohost.
During the series' 22nd and 21st seasons, she was mainly on screen during the
program's Friday episodes.
