Renee Kathleen Zellweger
Renee Kathleen Zellweger is a daughter
of Kjellfrid Andreassen, a former midwife and nurse in Norway. She was born
April 25 the year 1969 in Katy. Emil Erich Zellweger, her father, is a Swiss
engineer. They got married in the year 1963. Drew Zellweger is Renee's brother
and was born on the 15th of February 1967. Renee was a part of the drama club
at high school when she became fascinated by acting. She enrolled in an acting
class at University of Texas (Austin) and began to think about acting as a
profession. She was determined to act after graduation, but Hollywood isn't
easy to get into. Renee decided not to leave Texas and auditioned in Houston
for roles. Matthew McConaughey was another Hollywood newcomer who she met
filming for Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2: The Next Generation (1994). Renee
observed him on a project which interested her. She auditioned and was offered
the role in Love and A.45 (1994). The role received enough praise from critics
and a decision to move to Los Angeles. Her breakthrough came from another role
in The Whole Wide World (1996). Cameron Crowe was busy with casting Jerry
Maguire (1996) starring Tom Cruise. Crowe was considering such actresses as
Cameron Diaz, Bridget Fonda, Winona Ryder, and Marisa Tomei. He was enthralled
when he heard of Zellweger's performance in The Whole Wide World (1996). He
auditioned Zellweger and was convinced the actress was his Dorothy Boyd. Renee
continued to be a huge successes with smaller independent films. Her films
received even more praise from critics and was confident enough that she was
ready to make a return to large-budget Hollywood films. Meryl Streep starred
alongside her in One True Thing (1998). She also starred in Me, Myself
& Irene (2000) with Jim Carrey, and soon after, she began to date Jim
Carrey. Bridget Jones's Diary (2001) was her first film in the title role.
