Rita Ora, a British musician and singer. Rita Sahatciu Ora was a British singer-songwriter , born to Vera Bajraktari and Besnik Sahatciu in Pristina, Kosovo in 1990. Besim Sahatciu is her granddaughter. Her family relocated to United Kingdom at age 1. Her birthplace was in West London, attended St Cuthbert with St Matthias CE Primary School in Earls Court and graduated from Sylvia Young Theatre School. She began singing at a young age. In 2004, she appeared in the British film Spivs. The film featured her audition for Eurovision Your Country Needs You which was a British contestant in the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. However, she pulled out of the contest after just a few episodes because she didn't feel confident enough. In 2007, Ora got her first music video when she sang on Craig David's track titled "Awkward" and later in 2008 with "Where's Your Love" with Tinchy Stryder, for which she also appeared in the video. Ora began singing in bars in London. A few days later, Ora flew to New York to meet Jay-Z An A&R representative inform Roc Nation about Ora. Ora was featured in Jay-Z’s 2009 video for "Young Forever" as well as "Over" by Drake. Ora was noticed by Jay-Z and he quickly signed her to Roc Nation, in which she was featured in an advertisement for Roc Nation + Skullcandy Aviator Headphones. Her father Besnik was the proprietor of a pub and she started her singing career from that same pub. Gwen Stefani is a major influence on her manner of speaking. She also mentions her father, Besnik who was a pub's owner. A friend of Kate Moss, and Ed Sheeran.
